Abstract:Periodically bulletin on soil conservation and monitoring is one major regulation demand for the soil and water conservation law. However, one of the main problems in this bulletin is how to calculate the soil erosion and soil conservation benefits by using the data from the monitoring sites. In this paper, taking Beijing City as the object, with the data of the rainfall and soil erosion from the Beijing soil and water conservation monitoring network, the amount of soil erosion in Beijing City was calculated in 2009 using the GIS and rainfall erosivity model. It can be concluded that the result and methods are feasible, and oould be the reference of soil erosion calculation for other regions.
