Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】Review the international researches of perception-based journal evaluation methods, summarize
the research progress and trends, and provide reference for relevant researches in this field in China.【Method/process】30 studies
about journal evaluation in the past 15 years that have clearly used the expert questionnaire survey method and detailed the evaluation
process were analyzed. The basic characteristics of these studies from the evaluation of the journal source, the sample of respondents,
the evaluation process and the evaluation criteria were also analyzed, then the existing problems of these research and proposal for fu⁃
ture researchers were discussed.【Result/conclusion】A series of effective practices has been formed in these studies, each evaluation
element has obvious characteristics. There are some problems in the segmentation of journals, the measurement and control of inter⁃
viewee bias, the improvement and regulation of the evaluation process, as well as the definition and understanding of evaluation crite⁃
ria. Some suggestions were made.【Innovation/limitation】Summarize the basic characteristics of perception-based journal evaluation
methods, and proposes perfect suggestions for the deficiencies of existing studies.
