Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】In the data environment, the library needs to establish the post of data librarian and provide data
services. Understanding the post responsibilities and ability of data librarians can provide reference for the construction of data librari⁃
an post, talent introduction and training.【Method/process】This article researches literature of data librarians at home and abroad.The
job responsibilities, abilities and characteristics of data librarians are analyzed by using the methods of network investigation and con⁃
tent analysis.【Result/conclusion】This paper summarizes three kinds of responsibilities of foreign data librarians, clarifies their hard
and soft skill, summarizes their ability characteristics, and provides reference for the post construction of data librarians.【Innovation/
limitation】Put forward the ability system of data librarians and its characteristics. The method is still limited to literature research, we
will continue in-depth reseach.
