Abstract:Soil erosion and the corresponding environmental and ecological impacts have progressively been the impediments to the sustainable development of the human society. Thus the soil erosion mechanism and its prediction as well as the protection have been the focuses of research community. This paper systematically reviews the current status and mechanism of soil erosion,state-of-the-art of quantitative predictive modeling as well as outcomes of soil conservation in the United Kingdom in the past several years. The fruitful research results and technologies deserve considerable attention and can serve as invaluable references for further research and control of soil erosion in China.
