Abstract:Soil erosion monitoring is an important part of the application of remote sensing and GIS.The methods of soil erosion monitored from RS can be classified to the following types: visual interpretation of remote sensing image, spectral analysis of remote sensing,man-machine interactive interpretation, intelligent soil erosion monitoring and model parameterization approach, etc.Analyzing the advantages and the difficulties confronted applying in practice of each methods,we introduced a soil erosion monitoring method based on the coupling of repository and spatial information,to satisfy the demands of soil and water conservation.
