Abstract:

【Purpose/significance】To university libraries, the construction of patent information service system for industrial technolo⁃

gy innovation is beneficial to carry out patent information service and support the development of industry, from a higher level and

more systematic perspective.【Method /process】Based on the top-level design think, the socialized service theory of university librar⁃

ies and the characteristics of patent information service, combined with the analysis of the problems existing in the patent information

service of university libraries for industrial technology innovation in the early research, this paper proposes a framework model of pat⁃

ent information service system and designs the system of university libraries for industrial technology innovation, and then analyses

the components and functions of each part of the system. Taking the Shanghai Maritime University Library as an example, the effective⁃

ness of the service system has been verified.【Result/conclusion】Some suggestions of the government departments, industrial users

and universities to promote the construction of patent information service system are put forward. The construction of this system may

offer a new way and reference for improving the patent information service of university libraries, strengthening the supplying of patent

information services for industrial technology innovation, and promoting the construction of patent information public service system.

【Innovation/limitation】A theoretical discussion and case analysis on the construction of patent information service system of universi⁃

ty libraries for industrial technology innovation were conducted. However, the patent information service is still in its infancy, universi⁃

ty libraries also need the participation of government, industry and universities in the process of constructing the system.
