Abstract: 【 Purpose/significance】 The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed that we should comprehen⁃ sively promote rural revitalization, adhere to the priority of agricultural and rural development, and accelerate the construction of agri⁃ cultural power. The realization of information value in the process of agricultural informatization depends on rural digital transforma⁃ tion. However, the existing researches mainly focus on the qualitative discussion of the dual relationship between rural digital transfor⁃ mation and information value, without an in-depth empirical study of the internal mechanism between them.【 Method/process】 By in⁃ troducing the theory of digital empowerment, this study divides rural digital empowerment into three dimensions: structural empower⁃ ment, psychological empowerment, and resource empowerment, and builds a process model of rural digital transformation promoting ru⁃ ral digital empowerment, to realize information value. The hypotheses were verified by the structural equation model through 342 ques⁃ tionnaire data collected from residents of rural and township areas throughout the country. 【Result/conclusion】 The results showed that rural digital transformation has a positive impact on information value. Rural digital transformation has an indirect impact on infor⁃ mation value through digital empowerment.【 Innovation/limitation】 Based on the background of "digital and real" integration of rural industry digitalization, this paper enriches the theory of digital empowerment, provides theoretical support for the realization mecha⁃ nism of information value, and promotes rural revitalization in the new era and new journey. In the future, the impact of farmers′ infor⁃ mation literacy on digital empowerment and the realization of information value needs to be considered.
