This paper reviews the book City Portrait Research from the Perspective of Social Tagging from its content distinctive fea⁃

tures and professional highlights, conducting an analysis and judgement across four dimensions: tag mining to craft the digital city

space, time series analysis to illustrate the city evolutionary trajectory, sentiment analysis to capture the public cognitive, and intelli⁃gence enhancement through information support to elevate decision-making proficiency. The book explores significant problems dur⁃ing city portrait study, such as the concept of city portrait and social tags, the process of data integration, the procedure of tag calcula⁃tion, and the application scenario of tags data. This book successfully established logic association between city portrait and gover⁃nance, not only provided a clear thinking for building city portrait, but also enriched the research content of city data enablement.
