【Purpose/significance】As an important and emerging mean to promote the development of finance, fintech has gradually en⁃

tered residents' daily life and received extensive attention from the public and scholars. Currently, there are fewer studies on the com⁃prehensive application of LDA topic mining and grounded theory model to review research progress and hot spots in fintech field.【Method/process】This paper uses LDA topic analysis model to entirely display hot topics in fintech and grounded theory model to en⁃code and conduct grounded analysis on the topics.【Result/conclusion】Results show that: (1) There are 17 hot topics in fintech, which are mainly classified into four categories: traditional finance, inclusive finance, fintech and financial regulation. (2) Traditional finance focuses on retail business, business process reengineering and transformation of commercial banks. Core topics of inclusive finance cover quantity and quality of regional economic growth, residents' consumption level and structure. (3) The research on fintech and fi⁃nancial regulation centers on technological change and business process reengineering driven by big data and AI technology. Hot top⁃ics in fintech sector cover supply chain finance, AI, mobile payments, intelligent investment, blockchain technology, digital currency and so on. Financial supervision focuses on fintech driven intelligent supervision and cooperative supervision mode.【Innovation/limi⁃tation】This paper combines LDA topic mining with grounded theory, and provides reference for practitioners, readers and researchers for the comprehensive interpretation of hot topics and progress in fintech. However, the topic mining is carried out through titles and keywords, there is still room for improvement to use more contents of papers to mine topics.
