【Purpose/significance】 This paper analyzes the current situation, hot spots and development trend of library user portrait re⁃

search, which is helpful to provide research basis and reference for further research in this field.【Method/process】 Based on the

highly cited research papers on library user portraits from 2014 to 2022 as samples, this paper analyzed the dynamic evolution and hot spots of the research on library user portraits in China by drawing keywords co-occurrence map, cluster map and time line map with Citespace software.【Result/conclusion】 This paper summarizes the research achievements in recent years from five aspects: algorithm and technology of library user portrait, construction of library user portrait system, service mode of library user portrait, information ser⁃vice of library user portrait, and application case of library user portrait. The purpose is to promote the further development of library user portrait research.【Innovation/limitation】Classify user portraits from the perspective of readers, use cite space and make strategic coordinates to scientifically sort out and analyze 259 literatures on library user research from 2014 to 2023, and provide reference for library user portrait services. Future research will rely more on the application of emerging technologies such as AIGC in the field of user portrait.”
