media resources, in order to provide strong support for the construction of city profile archives and the improvement of urban appear?
ance, and assist urban governance and development.【Method/process】Using the methods of literature review and comparative analy- sis, this paper introduces the research overview of government social media resources preservation at home and abroad from the two as- pects of project practice research and experimental research of government social media resources preservation, reviews it from the di- mensions of theory and practice, and explores the government social media resources preservation from the perspective of city profile. Based on the perspective of city profile, this paper analyzes the preservation path of government social media resources from the as-pects of system, information and technology, and explores the preservation problems of government social media resources.【Result/conclusion】Safeguard measures are proposed from the system, information, and technology levels to provide support for the preserva-tion of government social media resources from the perspective of city profile.【Innovation/limitation】This paper only analyzes the preservation path of government social media resources from the perspective of city profile, but does not verify the relevant path.
