Abstract:

【Purpose/significance】This paper discusses the similarities and differences of highly cited papers in the LIS field at home

and abroad from multiple perspectives, so as to provide useful references for the development of LIS at home, and provide ideas for im⁃

proving the connotation construction of the domestic library and information discipline.【Method/process】Based on bibliometrics and

social network analysis methods, a comparative study between home and abroad was conducted from the aspect of source journals and

authors of highly cited papers, research contents in the field and evolution of research hotspots in the LIS field from 2009 to 2018.【Re⁃

sult/conclusion】It is found that for highly cited papers in the LIS field: The source journals are more concentrated abroad; The phe⁃

nomenon of "outstanding" author output is more obvious at home, while more attention is paid to maintaining relatively stable coopera⁃

tion among authors abroad; The research topics at home are limited to a few hotspots and highly concentrated; The research topics of

highly cited papers and evolution of research hotspots are quite different in the LIS field at home and abroad.Therefore, in the future,

the domestic LIS field needs to pay more attention to the establishment of relatively stable cooperative relationships,carry out detailed,

concrete and in-depth research, and focus on multi-perspective analysis and expand research topics.【Innovation/limitation】The dia⁃

chronic method is used to obtain highly cited papers in the domestic LIS field and compare to the international counterpart. In the fu⁃

ture, natural language processing techniques can be adopted to break the limitation of merging keywords artificially.
