From the perspective of digital transition, the evolution regularity of archives and recordkeeping study in Europe and America is summarized through the analysis of keyword frequency and related literature content based on the papers that are published on the Archival Science from 2001 to 2018. The result shows that the archives and recordkeeping study in Europe and America can be divided into 3 phases as follows: electronic records management phase, digital preservation and digital archiving phase, and digital curation phase. The research object transforms from“electronic”and“records”to“digital”and“data”. The contents of research transform from“management”to“curation”.
