Abstract：In order to probe into the effects of straw return to water infiltration and evaporation,simulation experiment of straw deep mulching on soil columns were studied.The experiments are to put a straw layer of 3cm thick under the soil surface of 20cm.The results indicate that infiltration speed of surface soil water have been reduced in the process of soil water infiltration after irrigation and raining.The soil water under straw layer can't divert to the surface layer through capillary action in the process of soil moisture evaporation,so the water that pass through the straw layer has been difficultly evaporated out of the soil.The losing water by evaporation has been reduced about 2 to 3 percent under the straw deep mulching.At the same time,straw deep mulching has an active effect on protecting the deep soil moisture.
