Abstract：It takes 5 years for United Nations to finish Millennium Ecosystem ssessment(MA).Dryland(ecosystem) and dryland degradation/desertification are the very important issues in the MA.Based on MA,it is introduced about better understanding of desertification,causes of desertification,desertification influence scale,impacts of desertification to ecosystem and human society,relations among desertification,global climate change and biodiversity loss,effect of different future development paths on desertification and prevention methods of desertification.
