Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】There are many challenges in data governance in universities. Studying the influencing factors of data governance is beneficial for promoting data governance in universities and realizing the value of data.【Method/process】Based on the TOE theoretical framework, factors affecting data governance were selected. A questionnaire survey was conducted on the current situation and effectiveness of data governance in 72 domestic universities, and regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of data governance in universities【. Result/conclusion】The research findings indicate that data quality management platforms, data service platforms, data literacy of data administrators, communication mechanisms of organizational structures, data security man‑ agement systems, and funding investment have a significant impact on the effectiveness of data governance. It is recommended that universities strengthen the construction of data governance platforms, enhance personnel's data literacy, improve the operation mecha‑ nism of data governance, and ensure sustained funding investment in the process of data governance.【Innovation/limitation】A frame‑ work for analyzing the influencing factors of university data governance has been constructed, and further exploration can be con‑ ducted on more dimensions of technology, organization, and environment, as well as their collaborative impact mechanisms.
