Jilin dialect, as a part of Northeast Mandarin, has received less attention from the academic community, with only sporadic

articles exploring it. In April 2023, Northeast Normal University published the Collection of Chinese Language Resources : Jilin editedby Qin Yuelong and Zou Dewen, as the first academic work to collect Chinese dialect resources in Jilin Province, opening a new chap⁃ter in the study of Chinese dialects in the Jilin region. This book utilizes modern information technology to analyze the audio, video,and oral cultural materials of Jilin dialect survey points, especially the establishment of an audio database, establishing the scientific⁃ity and importance of Jilin regional dialect research, breaking through previous research thinking patterns, and establishing research concepts of resources, information, and culture, indicating that Jilin regional dialect survey research has entered a conscious new stage. The publication of this book can be regarded as a landmark achievement in the investigation and research of Jilin dialect and the protection of language and cultural resources in the 21st century.
