Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】With the explosive growth of AIGC, its archival attributes and archiving logic have become emerging issues that the archival community urgently needs to address in the era of digital intelligence. Studying the archiving issues of AIGC is of great value for enabling the digital transformation of the archival cause and driving the development of new-quality productive forces【. Method/process】A dual analytical perspective of theory and practice is adopted: at the theoretical level, the necessity and ratio⁃ nality of AIGC archiving are demonstrated; at the practical level, multi-dimensional conflicts are deconstructed to reveal the relation⁃ ships of contradictions.【Result/conclusion】At the theoretical level, AIGC possesses intelligence value, memory value, data element value, and evidential value, making archiving necessary. Based on the "human-centered" generation mode, AIGC essentially remains a derivative record product of human social activities, and thus has the rationality for archiving. At the practical level, AIGC archiving faces five major conflicts: conflicts of source subjects, conflicts of value judgment, conflicts of cognitive trust, conflicts of management methods, and conflicts of ethics and law. Therefore, it is proposed that in the future, AIGC should be archived. However, under the cur⁃ rent practical conditions, it is necessary to carefully screen and archive real and valuable AIGC, and consider three major issues: "what to archive" "who will archive", and "how to manage"【. Innovation/limitation】The legitimacy and multi-dimensional conflicts of AIGC archiving are clarified from both theoretical and practical levels. In the future, it is still necessary to further propose specific strategies for AIGC archiving.
