The Core Skills Requirements of Archival Profession in Foreign and Its Enlightenment to China

Abstract: The core skills of the archival profession are the key role of the archival professional skills system, which is an important factor in determining the degree of archival professionalization. It is crucial to the development of archival profession. This paper introduces the contents of the core archival professional skills requirements in the documents published by the official agencies of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. On the basis of combing and summarizing, it summarizes the enlightenment of archival professional core skills requirements in foreign to promote the archival professional development in China. In order to establish the core professional skills of archival profession with Chinese characteristics, It is necessary to establish correct archive professional ethics values and build a coordinated and sustainable archival profession ecosystem.
