As a part of Urban Memory Project, the construction of Digital Archives Resource Center is very important for the saving and reserving of all kinds of cultural media.This paper discusses the problems in urban archives work at present and suggests that the functions of archival work should be expanded, the core of which is to build Digital Archives Resource Center. After the necessity and feasibility of building the center being presented, and the center’s main function and the membership relation with archival institutions being described, the paper mainly explores the constructing mode of the center and puts forward a constructing scheme in terms of systems engineering.
