Instead of simply copying classification standards of cultural relics in the collection of institutions, the ones for archives in collection of institutions should be properly selected and applied according to their own characters. Classifying archives in collection of institutions on the basis of their administrative rank not only complies to archives’ administrative features, moreover, by relying on existing archives classification management system, it also enhances efficiency. In addition, partially adjusting archives produced by same rank institutions according to subject character can meet the need of subdividing. And subdividing by subjects is able to share the fruit of archive heritage appraising in order to ease classification procedures.
