Focusing on the topic of long-term preservation of electronic records, the 4th China Electronic Records Management Symposium was convened at Renmin University of China on August 30th, 2013. Nine international and domestic speakers delivered comprehensive discussions surrounding the basic understanding, specification development, technical solutions and implementation promotion approach of the long-term preservation of electronic records. Through the symposium, the understanding of OAIS information model was deepened; the great significance of electronic record management in records creating organizations towards digital preservation was emphasized; and a long-term preservation framework for electronic records was established, which consists of three interactive dimensions, i.e. concepts, technology and management.
