Iron gall ink, the more durable writing ink, which is widely used in archives. However, the effect of iron gall ink to the durability of paper has not been deeply studied. For this paper we picked up several common commercial inks and moreover the self-made inks made up of main chemical elements composed that separately spread on the filter paper. Three commercial inks and four inks prepared with main composition of ink were coated on the filter paper. After 5 days under the condition of accelerated aging at high temperature and high humidity, to test the mechanical properties of the paper before and after the filter. The results show that the paper was seriously been deteriorated by iron gall ink.
