Calls for Papers in English

 

 

The Science of Soil and Water Conservation (SSWC) is a sole comprehensive academic journal sponsored by Chinese Society of Soil and Water Conservation. The impact factor is increasing year by year since initiated in 2003, evaluated as “the Key Magazine of China Technology” since 2004, “Chinese Science Citation Database (CSBD)” since 2011, and “A Guide to the Core Journals of China” since 2015, thus it becomes a key academic platform for the field of soil and water conservation.

It is allowed for SSWC to publish articles in both Chinese and English from now on (only Chinese with English abstract was allowed before), and the estimated date for the first article in English will be the first issue of 2017. The permission of publishing a whole article in English is approved from China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of P. R. China. The purposes of having articles wholly in English are to provide a better platform for international academic communications on soil and water conservation, keep in accord with the rapid development of soil and water conservation, and present the advanced achievements of soil and water conservation in China to international communities.

1.       Scope of an Article

An article may cover the scientific theory of soil and water conservation and technology research results in respects of, including:

l  the rule of soil erosion by water, wind, gravity or debris flow;

l  survey and forecast of soil erosion, agriculture, forestry and engineering project to prevent soil water erosion, and small watershed management;

l  the mechanism of land deterioration in arid area and control of desertification; and mountain hazards mechanism due to water and gravity erosion and prevention technologies of mountain torrents, debris flow and landslide disaster;

l  and the planning, design, construction, evaluation of soil water conservation and new products, new technologies, new methods, new materials as well.

2.       Requirements for an Article

The research results in an article should not be previously published in any public media, and not involve in leaking secrets. The content of an article should be scientifically innovative and advanced in technology. An article should be concisely described with clear arguments and reliable data. The cited data and literatures should be pointed to clear references. Texts, numbers, measurement units, and symbols should be in accord with the international conventions. The detailed requirements can be found from the Instructions for Writing an Article of SWCC.

The English abstract should be 450 notional words with 4 aspects of Background, Methods, Results and Conclusions based on the principle of precisely outlining the core content of the article.

There should be corresponding ones in Chinese for the article´s title, author(s), author(s)´ affiliations, abstract, and key words. The abstract in Chinese should include 4 secparated parts of Background, Methods, Results and Conclusions.

The Introduction of an article should clearly state the importance and novelty, then list the research progresses by colleagues in all-over world, and compare them. The conclusions should present the mechanism and universality from observing the research objects and expounded by the experimental results.

3.       Submission of an Article

      All articles will be submitted online, and authors may login into SSWC home page and check the progress of paper being processed.  

Duo to an article in SWCC is completely recorded by online database (Cluster of Digital Journals of WANGFANG DATA), and also recorded by CSBD, Chinese Academic Journals-CD, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), in case no any special claim from the author(s), which is interpreted as the author(s) agree that the whole article may be recorded in the above database and CD version.
