Abstract Tlie paper of the plant species selection in slope revegetation is discussed from the perspective of plant physiology in this paper. The problems which need to be solved from the angle of plant physiological research are pointed out, such as the selection of plant species and plant species suitability, tolerance, root characteristics, reproduction characteristics, the conservation and management. The author holds that plant physiology should be combined with greening engineering in slope revegetation and do the relevant research on plant growth, water relation, mineral nutrition, mutual relations and other relative areas. The results are expected to provide scientific and theoretical basis for side-slope revegetation.
