Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】Develop an information anxiety scale for novice mothers in the field of infant health, and analyze both the causes and intensity of their anxiety. The findings will provide a reference for enhancing the quality of information services. 【Method/process】We will begin by extracting the causes of anxiety through a literature review and in-depth interviews to establish a project database. Next, grounded theory and statistical methods will be used to summarize and integrate the data, optimizing the scale. Finally, the scale will be applied to assess and analyze the anxiety levels and specific manifestations among novice mothers.【Result/ conclusion】The final scale includes five factors (Information Acquisition, Information Interaction, Information Environment, External Factors and Internal Factors) and 26 items. The study revealed that novice mothers generally experience varying levels of anxiety re‑ lated to infant health information, with various forms of compound anxiety. Among these, anxiety induced by "information interaction" is the most intense, while anxiety stemming from a "lack of scientific basis" runs the deepest. Furthermore, frequent exposure to health and parenting information tends to heighten anxiety, whereas using professional health and parenting information platforms helps re‑ duce anxiety and stabilize emotions.【Innovation/limitation】This study has several limitations, including a small sample size and un‑ even distribution of educational backgrounds, which may impact the accuracy of the results. Moreover, the scale requires further vali‑ dation through repeated testing. Future studies could focus on refining user characteristics to offer more targeted improvement sugges‑ tions.
