Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】In order to explore the survival factors of participants in socialized online Q&A communities, and to provide theoretical support for improving the survival rate of participants【. Method/process】This study was based on the behavior data of participants in the MetaFilter Q&A communities and introduced survival analysis methods. Firstly, we analyzed the overall survival situation of participants. Then, single factor analysis was carried out on participant's survival situation. Finally, Cox proportional haz⁃ ards model was used to analyze the common effect of various potential factors on the participants’survival time, and revealed the sur⁃ vival factors of participants in the online Q&A community.【Result/conclusion】The results of the study showed that the overall sur⁃ vival rate of participants in the Q&A community was low, only 43%; The survival rate of participants with different modules, different theme types and different social intensity was different. Specifically, participants who were at the centrality of the social network, posted more content, and received more effective feedback (likes or comments) from others lived longer, while participants who had a greater degree of cross-theme attention to content and posted or commented more frequently in a short period of time at the beginning lived shorter.【Innovation/limitation】The survival analysis method is introduced to explore the influencing factors of the survival of the participants in the social network question and answer community, and provides a reference for the operators of the social network question and answer community to improve the survival rate of the participants.
