Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】By combing and analyzing of the project establishment and research progress of library and informa⁃tion science projects of the National Social Science Fund of China during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, we have an insight into the research and development status and hotspots of this subject, as well as providing ideas and directions for the further research of li⁃brary and information science.【Method/progress】Taking the 741 annual NSSF projects approved in 2016-2020 and 283 journals pa⁃pers included in domestic CNKI as samples, the research status, the number of projects approved, the project types, the research insti⁃tutions and the researchers are analyzed by using literature analysis method and visual analysis tool Gephi. Meanwhile, it analyzes the research hotpots of secondary disciplines of library and information science projects during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.【Result/
conclusion】The research presents the hotspots and trends as below: Firstly, the cross integration of disciplines of library and informa⁃tion science under the background of new liberal art construction. Secondly, the important needs of information and public sentiment under the characteristics of the times. Thirdly, the value of literature arrangement and research is highlighted from the perspective of traditional cultural inheritance. Fourthly, the theory and method innovation of the development of library and information science.【In⁃novation/limitation】Combined with the data samples of papers and projects, this research provides a new path based on the visual tools to analyze the research hotspots and characteristics of secondary disciplines of library and information science.
