Application of LFA method to landscape function assessment of vegetation in Western Shanxi Loess Plateau |

Abstract Based on the LFA(Landscape Function Analysis) method,35 samples of 7 land types and the effects of the vegetation type and human activity on forest landscape function and soil properties were evaluated.The results show that the affects of different vegetation type on soil properties are distinctly different.The soil properties(structure stability,infiltration,nutrients cycle) of natural secondary forest are the best;that of Robinia pseudoacacia and Pinus tabulaeformis plantation are second;that of grassland is the worst.Human activity has obvious affection on landscape function of plantation.The affection of vegetation on forest soil properties and the affection of human activity on forest landscape function and soil structure stability can be evaluated by LFA.
