Abstract As a famous county for Boehmeria nivea platation,Dazhu,has a history for more than 3000 years in Boehmeria nivea plantation with rich planting experience.Based on the data of runoff plots from 1986 to 1989,and analysis of SWC reason of Boehmeria nivea, contrast among cash forest,SWC forest and Boehmeria nivea,the results are gained as follows: the retention for water,holding ability for sediments,anti-erodibility of Boehmeria nivea are all bigger than the others.Boehmeria nivea,which has strong function in SWC work,need to be popularized as a good plant for governing soil and water losses.
