Abstract The evaluation of natural eco-restoration of opening forest watershed in Nan'an was systematically studied. Results showed that after 15-year natural eco-restoration, vegetation cover rate was increasing from 30%～50% to 91.4%～95.8%, community was diversified and stable. The water conservation capacity of forest had increased by 56.27%～76.86%, soil structure and soil fertility was improved greatly. Average soil erosion modulus decreased by 2054～ 2149t/km2·a and soil erosion was controlled.
