Abstract General situation of soil erosion and water loss, development stage, measures of soil and water conservation (SWC) and its benefits in recent years,changing trend of investment and employees engaging in the field,future development trend in USA were introduced. In comparison with the situation of soil erosion and conservation in America, the analysis and appraisal on present status and development stage of soil and water conservation was made, some inspirations and suggestions for future development of SWC were also proposed for China.
