Abstract:Based on the experiment of one-dimensional vertical infiltration in laboratory conditions, the effect of Sodium Polyacrylate on infiltration capacity of sandy, loamy, and clayey soil and infiltration parameters of Kostiakov infiltration equations were studied.Four concentrations of sodium polyacrylate(0,0.08%,0.20%,and 0.50%),on dry weight basis, were added to these three soils. The results show that the concentration of sodium polyacrylate is controlled from 0.08% to 0.50% by weight, then the infiltration rate of these soils decrease with the time;the infiltration capacity significantly decrease with the increasing of sodium polyacrylate concentration;the infiltration capacity of three soils is restrained by sodium polyacrylate. The infiltration parameter k of soil decreases, while a ascenders with the increasing addition of sodium polyacrylate and the response of k/a on sodium polyacrylate gradually ascendeds with increasing sodium polyacrylate concentration.
