DEM correction using TVDI to evaluate soil moisture status in China

Abstract:The factors that affect the retrieval of soil moisture status using TVDI method are discussed. Considering the geographical characteristics in China, a method of correcting t s with DEM before constructing ts-NDVI space is suggested. Measured topsoil moisture from around China is used to determine the parameter in the correction. Comparison between the TVDI obtained before and after the correction shows that the TVDI obtained after DEM correction can better reflect the spatial distribution of soil moisture in China.
