Abstract Radiation-induced lung injury is the most common complication after radiotherapy for chest tumor. It is mainly characterized by early radiation-induced pneumonia and late radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis. Radiation-induced lung injury is closely related not only to irradiation volume and dose, but also to the expression of many cytokines and signal transduction. This paper reviews the research advances in protection against radiation-induced lung injury by various drugs.
