Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】This review of the book Information Encountering Research aims to provide readers with a compre⁃ hensive understanding of the development, conceptual framework, and theoretical and methodological foundations, while highlighting its central position within information behavior research.【Method/process】Using content analysis and inductive-deductive reasoning, this review examines the book's major contributions across typical contexts, knowledge structures, theoretical models, and empirical studies.【Result/conclusion】As a well-structured and insightful academic work, the book not only establishes a theoretical framework and methodological guide for the field of information encountering but also applies these to a series of empirical studies that reveal the scientific essence and practical significance of serendipitous information experiences.
