Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】Exploring the deployment of science and technology strategic resources in developed countries can provide necessary reference for China to formulate and optimize the macro-plan of science and technology strategy.【Method/process】 This article conducts intelligence analysis on Australia's national strategic science and technology resource allocation, R&D invest⁃ ment direction, government R&D plans and other science and technology activities and policies.【Result/conclusion】Australia has many advantageous research fields and related scientific research institutions. We have initially grasped the basic situation of its key core technologies, R&D investment distribution, scientific research infrastructure, macro science and technology policies and other im⁃ portant scientific and technological elements by research. The interaction of these scientific and technological elements jointly cata⁃ lyzes the formation of a country's scientific and technological strength.【Innovation/limitation】After integrating the R&D resource data at the Australian federal level and the science and technology policies of Australian states and their priority development areas, the analysis and condensation can inspire a lot.
