Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】CSSCI is now one of the most influential evaluation systems of social science in China and it is of grate significance to study whether being indexed in CSSCI enhance journal influence.【Method/process】Based on the 6 version of journal catalogues of CSSCI published during 2010-2021, this paper sorted out 1015 journals as a whole, selected 5 disciplines as samples, and sorted out the panel data of 328 journals in 2010-2019 considering the integrity of data. Difference-in-difference model is conducted.【Result/conclusion】The results show that being indexed in CSSCI can significantly enhance the influence of journals. Raising the proportion of funded papers and increasing the number of downloads per article can improve journal influence signifi⁃ cantly. Also, increasing the number of citations appropriately has a positive effect on enhancing journal influence.【Innovation/limita⁃ tion】This paper classifies journals according to CSSCI, considers not only in-CSSCI journals, but also out-CSSCI journals and their changes, and uses DID to analysis influential factors. Future studies could further consider other factors and adopt various methods to acquire robust results.
