Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】The purpose of this paper is to clarify the research progress of science and technology report (STR)
in China over the past 60 years, which is expected to provide necessary reference for the follow-up researchers and workers to under?
stand the research history, topic distribution and future issues in this field, and to provide necessary reference for their further research and work practice.【Method/process】Through systematic and thorough sorting and organizing relevant papers and their research find? ings, based on the growth pattern and the trend of publication, the development process was divided into four stages: slow start, fluctu? ating growth, rapid maturity and gradual decline. The research themes of each stage were sorted out and the research characteristics were summarized.【Result/conclusion】After more than 60 years of development, some research achievements have been made, but there are some shortcomings, and now it has entered the stage of decline.【Innovation/limitation】Some literatures are obsolete, the re? search topics were not refined comprehensively. The conclusion of the research was objective and has not been compared with other scholar's perspective.
