Abstract: 【Purpose/significance】There are many factors affecting the quality of academic journals in our country. To construct a com⁃prehensive journal evaluation system scientifically and reasonably can provide valuable reference for the development of academic evaluation in various fields.【Method/process】In this paper, the commonly used academic journal evaluation index at present were an⁃alyzed. A fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method of journal qualities based on the combination of fuzzy evaluation and analytic hierar⁃chy process was proposed and applied to the representative journals in the field of transportation.【Result/conclusion】The accuracy and feasibility of this method are verified by comparative analysis of 16 selected journals, which can be widely used in the ranking of journal evaluation in various fields.【Innovation/limitation】The periodical evaluation index model proposed in this paper is scientific,reasonable and operable, which can provide guidance direction and promotion strategy for the quality evaluation of academic journals.
