Abstract:

【Purpose/significance】The objectivity and rationality of the paper influence calculation method are very important for the

evaluation of scientific research performance of researchers, journals and other academic subjects. 【Method/process】Existing methods

are either inefficient or need the help of social platforms and domain experts, and the results are easily restricted by the promotion of

social platforms, people's subjective feelings and other factors, thus affecting the comprehensiveness, authenticity and reliability of the

results. In order to solve the above problem, this paper provides an automatic calculation method of paper influence (namely PIC), by

taking into full account the influence of the change of citation frequency on the paper over the years, as well as comprehensively utiliz⁃

ing the speed and volatility of the increase or decrease of citation frequency over the years, which has positive or negative binding force

on the total citation frequency of the paper.【Result/conclusion】This method provides a new quantitative evaluation perspective for a

single paper, which eliminates the external influence in the increase of citation frequency, improving the distinction, rationality and ob⁃

jectivity of the influence calculation results, and ensuring the realization of the method.【Innovation/limitation】In this paper, the cita⁃

tion value imposed by each paper on the cited paper is treated equally. The future work will deeply analyze the positive and negative ci⁃

tation purposes of cited papers in order to discovery the true value of cited papers.
