【Purpose/significance】 In response to the emerging characteristics of disruptive technology policies (DTP) of artificial intel⁃

ligence (AI) and the requirement of S&T policies in new economic eras, the paper explored the characteristics, application methods

and development patterns of DTP policy instruments of AI. Crucially, the presented conclusion can be referenced for optimizing the op⁃tions of policy instruments to policy makers.【Method/process】 Based on the policiometrics and the R-Z policy instruments classifica⁃tion, the DTP policy instruments of AI was analyzed quantitatively and the realistic application and development was summarized un⁃der three categories of supply, demand and environment.【Result/conclusion】 Based on the analysis results, the structural and evolu⁃tionary trend characteristics of DTP policy instruments are proposed. The development of DTP of AI in China needs to focus on the characteristics of diversification of policy instruments, pay attention to demand-based policy instruments driving mode, and strengthen the identification and utilization of forward-looking and predictive information.【Innovation/limitation】 In the follow-up research, the boundary of research target is going to be extended to other similar DTP, and the structure of policy instruments is further optimized to improve domain migration ability and analysis effect.
