Abstract Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy followed by TME is a common treatment at present for locally advanced rectal cancer. Several studies abroad in recent years have shown that statins have a positive effect on cancer resistance. We discussed the mechanism and clinical application of statins in preoperative neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy of locally advanced rectal cancer.
